Have you served in the Armed Forces and are you looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity?
Join other Military Veterans and civilians alike here at FAAAS and become a “Barn Buddy,” and work with our special needs horses in an atmosphere where we promote self-confidence, trust and teamwork! This project was the initial phase of a V.E.T.S. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy program that will be opened in the Spring of 2018 to retired, honorably discharged, and/or actively serving military veterans too.
Along with creating a lifelong bond with our various animals, you’ll also have the opportunity to see how you can impact a rescue’s life. Learn how to groom, handle horses, understand the psychology of the horse, handle tack, and more; in an emotionally rewarding atmosphere that promotes confidence. If you need more convincing, watch this video clip of our story “Barn Buddies”. It was made by our very own, Cidney Kelly OU Photo Journalism student and US Army Cadet.
