What is EAL?
Equine-Assisted Learning is a small group experiential approach that assists participants in developing meaningful life skills such as achieving personal growth, developing and improving communication, interpersonal and professional skills, and team building. Guided, safe, interactions are facilitated by a certified Equine Specialist with one or more horses participating in ground activities and exercises specifically tailored to the objectives of the group.
Offered at no charge to military veterans and active duty service members, Comrades-in-Arms provides participants the opportunity to share experiences with their peers in a supportive, small group format supported by our Horses and Treatment Team. Focused on rebuilding trust and confidence, participants identify and tackle the challenges they encounter working to reintegrate into civilian life while experiencing the esprit de corps many express missing once separated from the military. These 90 minute workshops are FREE thanks to donors and grant funders to our V.E.T.S Scholarship Fund. They are offered on designated Saturdays throughout the year. Facilitated by our EAGALA certified Treatment Team, these small group workshops are designed to assist women coping with family and work issues, transitioning to retirement, discovering identity beyond wife and mother, wellness and self care. These 2 hour workshops are offered on designated Saturdays 4 times throughout the year at a cost of $50 per person.
